Welcome to Kensington, California
|

|
The community of Kensington, with a population of
approximately 5,000, is an unincorporated area in
the extreme southwest corner of Contra Costa County.
It lies between Berkeley on the south and El Cerrito
on the north and west. Kensington is an exceptional
place, and its residents consider themselves fortunate
to live here. From high in the hills overlooking
San Francisco Bay, many homes boast stunning views
of the inspiring urban landscape. With easy access
to Bay Area freeways and transportation, yet isolated
enough to retain a tranquil-like village atmosphere,
Kensingtons location in the Bay Area is enviable.
The nearby Berkeley campus of the University of
California offers lectures, concerts and athletic
events and San Francisco is just across the Bay.
Tilden Park and Wildcat Canyon Regional Parks with
their wildlands and hiking trails lie in Kensingtons
backyard. Kensington is essentially a residential
community. Homes represent a diversity of styles,
which add character and charm to its neighborhoods.
In addition to the residential sector, there are
two small commercial areas, both of which offer
a variety of goods and services to residents, just
a few minutes away.
